We are excited to now be able to talk to you about a great new product from Yale, Keyless Entry.
Keyless or Keyfree entry works in the same way as your car fob does. Press a button and it will remotely unlock your door. If you do it by accident, after a few seconds it will re-lock itself, making sure you’re as secure as possible.
In fact you don’t even need a fob. The new Keyless entry incorporates a sleek keypad. Just type in your unique 4-12 digit pin, and in you go. And if you have guests or others that need access to the house, there is a multi-pin function.
Imagine you’ve got the shopping in the car, but it’s absolutely chucking it down. If you’ve got a normal lock your going to have to root around in your bag or pocket looking for it, while your getting soaked. But with the Keyless entry you can unlock the door from the car and run straight in!
Another scenario would be if you went out to walk the dog or going for a run. You don’t need your key, just lift the handle up on the way, the in the handle will tell you the door is securely locked, then you can be on your way. When you arrive back, just type in your pin and your door is unlocked again.
As you come to expect from Yale, the Keyfree handle is incredibly secure. It’s achieved Secure by Design status, and actually went under an extra 30 minutes of testing by the BSI, to which the BSI could not break into the handle. To prevent burglars spending any amount of time trying to hack the handle off, the device is fitted with an 80 decibel alarm which goes off if it detects any tampering. Hows that for secure!
The Keyless entry runs on batteries, which means there is no need for expensive electrician charges. It will last roughly 12 months, and during the last two months the handle will regularly remind you to change the batteries. If the batteries were to fail, there is a connection for a square 9v battery for a small power boost, and then just in case it has a back up Break Secure door cylinder – that’s 2 fail-safe options!
The Keyfree entry comes in either polished gold or polished chrome.
The Keyless entry is only available with our Composite doors, but this makes for a great excuse to purchase a high quality, super-secure new door!
